The Beauty Within.

At lunch time on any day of the week many workers can be seen sitting around St. Clement Danes Church on the Strand in London, many of those workers will be aware of the grey wall's and the bomb scars on the outside of the building, if only they took the time to go around to the front and pop their heads inside, the sight that awaits is breathtaking. Here are a few photos I took to share with you.

The Guards Chapel

The Chapel was completed in 1838 and was used until 1877 when it was refurbished and reopened for worship in 1879. On Sunday 18th June 1944 it was destroyed by a flying bomb, which killed 121 people yet left the Alter candles burning, a symbol of hope for the future. In 1963 the new Chapel, which incorporates the Apse from the original Chapel, was dedicated and opened for worship.
